One billion steps in 60 days
In their efforts to raise awareness and support the work done by WOWS Kids Foundation, BSP Life has pledged one billion steps in 60 days.
BSP Life’s acting managing director Craig Strong yesterday said they supported the work done by the foundation.
Mr Strong said they would use whatever resources they had to get behind the course and support the foundation and increase awareness on the challenges and plight of the children and their families.
“WOWS Kids Foundation has been a beacon of hope for children and families confronting the challenges of child cancer treatment. With each step we take, we aim to bring smiles, hope, and financial assistance to these courageous young warriors,” Mr Strong said.
“The One Billion Steps in 60 days challenge is a testament to our vanua and community commitment to go above and beyond in our support by raising awareness on early detection of child cancer.
“We invite our subsidiaries, customers and social media followers to join us in this inspiring journey, whether by participating in the walk or contributing to the cause. Together, we can make a significant impact on the lives of these brave children and their families.”
Foundation’s co-founder and board chair Sina Kami said they had a target of $300,000 each year to be able to take care of the medical and other needs of the 78 children in their care.
Ms Kami said the challenge would allow BSP Life to raise awareness and support the work of the foundation.
A registration link will be shared on the BSP Life social media pages (LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram) and website for participants to register.
The challenge will conclude with a national wellness walk at Albert park in Suva on Saturday 18th November 2023.
