Missing boater found dead in Polk County

POLK COUNTY (WQOW) – On Wednesday the boater who was reported missing in Polk County Monday was found dead.

As News 18 reported, the Polk County Sheriff’s Office was searching for a missing man on Cedar Lake near Star Prairie.

The Sheriff’s Office said search teams recovered the body of 23-year-old Andrew Skaare of River Falls Wednesday afternoon.

Agencies that helped include the Washington County Sheriff’s Office recovery and dive team out of Minnesota, the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office, the Wisconsin DNR, and the Allied Fire Department.

The incident remains under investigation by the Polk County Sheriff’s Office
