“We have a little bit of everything for everyone, so we definitely encourage everyone to go ahead and get their tickets early for the best prices,” she said.

This is a separate ticket from the zoo, as animals will be resting during the night. Guests will be able to walk around the zoo grounds illuminated with environmentally friendly LED bulbs.

“This is an event that is solely about the lights. So, we want to be very upfront about it is that animals are not going to be participating in this event,” Reyes said. “It’s not like a regular zoo day.”

Guests will have the opportunity to take pictures in front of the 33-foot color-changing holiday tree, a colorful holiday light tunnel, get hot chocolate from one of the s’mores-making stations and an interactive dance floor, among other attractions.

The zoo will only be using energy-saving LED lights during the event. LED lights use 85% less power than incandescent lights, giving the Zoo a chance to conserve energy.

Guests are encouraged to recycle their old or broken lights at the zoo. The Zoo has previously recycled more than 26,000 lbs. of holiday lights.
