Incident in Bethlehem leads to brief lockout at BASD school

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – An incident in Bethlehem Friday afternoon had one elementary school on lockout status for about an hour.

Bethlehem police say they were called to a residence in the 2400 block of Linden Street for a report of a disturbance just before 2 p.m. 

In coordination with the Bethlehem Area School District, Spring Garden Elementary School, across the street, was placed on a lockout. 

Police secured the area and investigated the complaint, but they say nothing was found and no arrests were made.

A photojournalist on the scene said police and a SWAT team had been at the residence.

The school returned to normal operation around 3 p.m.
