Blank Year Long Calendar 2022
LAUSD proposes extending 2022-23 school year by seven days
Los Angeles Unified may extend next school year by seven days to include optional accelerated learning and professional development opportunities, according to the proposed 2022-23 academic calendar released Wednesday. Board members will vote on the calendar at Tuesday’s board meeting.
If the proposed calendar is approved, the school year would end June 15 to accommodate four optional acceleration days meant to provide extra extended learning opportunities for students. The accelerated learning days will take place on Wednesdays throughout the school year. Staff would also be encouraged to attend three optional professional development days before instruction starts Aug. 15.
California requires at least 180 instructional days and two pupil-free days; these optional seven days would serve as additional. The extension of the calendar will cost the district $122 million considering all relevant staff members participate, according to the proposal.
