What is “90 Day Fiancé”?

“90 Day Fiancé” is TLC’s biggest reality TV show. It is as straightforward as the title implies. The show follows international couples on their journey to the altar, which is often complicated by long-distance issues and compatibility worries. People have just 90 days to get married. The series originated with Americans bringing home a foreigner on a K-1 visa, AKA the Fiancé Visa. The show documents the highs and lows that come with planning a wedding in a 90-day timeframe, where couples are put to the ultimate test of love.

The series originally aired in 2014 and has since amassed a never-ending list of spinoff series, including:

What to watch before “90 Day Fiance” Season 10

Typically, you do not need to watch much before a new season of 90 Day Fiancé, because the original series tends to follow new couples. However, sometimes couples appear on the spin-off series before they even make it to the K-1 visa process. In the past, and for season 10, couples have previously appeared on the spin-off series “90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days.”

“90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days”

“Before the 90 Days” (sometimes dubbed B90) debuted in 2017. The series follows couples who are in the process of applying for a K-1 visa but haven’t gotten to the actual visa approval stages yet.

Typically, these couples are just first meeting, though sometimes the couples have met prior to the series filming. This is most often the stage of their relationships where they are getting engaged and officially deciding to move forward with their relationship.

Season 10′s Gino and Jasmine first appeared in season five of “Before the 90 Days” and then returned for season six (still currently airing new episodes). The couple have had an incredibly tumultuous run on the series, so fans were surprised to see them announced for the newest season of “90 Day Fiancé.”

From TLC’s Press Release:

“Looks who’s back on our screens! Jasmine is finally moving from Panama to Michigan to start her life in America with Gino. Everything seems peachy for the newly engaged couple after Jasmine’s dramatic proposal, but will their qualms and clashes about family and their sex life stand in the way of their happiness?”

If you want to understand the many layers of this couple’s complex journey to getting the K-1 visa approved, you’ll need to watch both seasons five and six of “90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days.” Season five also features internet viral couple, Kimberly and Usman, if you need another reason to watch that season.
